Google's Blogger fears the Sexy Witch
Blogger has thrown up an adult content warning wall on one of my favorite blogs, Sexy Witch, which documents how the female magicians have been depicted over the years in everything ranging from art to film. The admin, Red Witch, is currently weighing options in response to the action.
“So, here are my options as I see them (1) Keep blogging behind the warning page until I am talking to myself. (2) Move all of this blog’s content to somewhere else on Blogger, and hope that my objectionable content escapes notice. (3) Move all the unobjectionable material to somewhere else on Blogger and maintain two sites, one with a warning page, one without. (4) Move all, or some, of the content, to my own domain and pay someone else to host it. (5) Give up on blogging.”
There are in fact some pictures that depict nudity on the site, as well as alternative religious practices, but nothing I would categorize as smut, and certainly not blasphemy. The vast majority of the photos are artistic renderings, in fact. It’s disappointing that people still fear the feminine body and female sexuality so much. The witch hunts are still on, apparently.
